this side of the world...

I haven't been on livejournal in years but a sudden sense of nostalgia brought me back today. I know that there isn't anyone reading here, but I wanted to post life updates for old time's sake.

Looking back at the the person I was four years ago, I think the word unpolished might be best suited. Since then I've worked at a women's shelter, completed my Master's in neuroscience at Columbia, lived in NYC briefly, moved back to Chicago, and now completed my first year of a PhD program in neuropsychology. I think I've certainly grown as a person, am more confident about my choices and thoughts. But of course, we're never done growing. I don't know where life will take me next but I'm eager to find out. Who knows? Maybe I'll log back in after several years and be a completely different person...wiser and hopefully stronger.

I'm also transferring my journal to dreamwidth, just in case.
